Battle of Sudoku: A Multiplayer Sudoku Showdown!

Love Sudoku? Want to challenge your friends or compete in teams? Battle of Sudoku is a multiplayer version of the classic puzzle game where you race against others to solve a Sudoku grid. The goal remains the same: fill a 9x9 grid with digits so each column, row, and 3x3 subgrid contains all numbers from 1 to 9.

Before you begin, choose your difficulty level (1-6, with 1 being easiest and 6 being hardest). This sets the initial numbers on the grid, providing a common starting point for all players. Every player sees the identical puzzle.

Game Modes:

The game offers two modes, configurable in the options:

• Show Opponent's Correct Numbers: Each correctly placed number is visible to all players. Only the first player to correctly place a number earns points for that number.

• Hide Opponent's Correct Numbers: Players cannot see each other's correct numbers. This allows for multiple players to earn points for the same correctly placed number.

Time-Outs: Incorrect entries result in a time-out (default 30 seconds, customizable). Other players can continue during your penalty.

Scoring: Correct numbers earn points, with higher difficulty levels awarding more points per correct entry. Incorrect entries cost you points (half the value of a correct entry).

Winning the Game:

The game ends when the puzzle is completely solved. In the mode where correct numbers are visible, the player with the highest score wins. If opponent's correct numbers are hidden, the game ends when one player solves the puzzle, though this doesn't grant extra points; other players can still win based on fewer mistakes.

Team Play vs. Individual Play:

Battle of Sudoku includes a team mode. Join team 1 or 2. At least two players per team are required. Points are tallied for the team, and notes/filled colors are shared among teammates, enabling collaborative strategies.

Solving Tools:

A toolbar provides tools to assist in solving:

• Pen Tool: Add notes (mini-numbers) to squares as potential candidates. Clicking a mini-number already present removes it.

• Fill Mode: Change the background color of squares.
