In Hyper Light Breaker, mastering the game involves collecting seven essential resources. These resources are crucial for acquiring gear, unlocking permanent upgrades, enhancing survivability, and expanding your character roster. Understanding how to obtain and utilize these resources can be challenging, but this guide aims to clarify everything you need to know about them.

You can keep track of your resources by navigating to the items tab in your inventory menu, ensuring you always know what you have on hand.

How to Get & Use Bright Blood in Hyper Light Breaker

Bright Blood is the most abundant resource in Hyper Light Breaker. You can gather it by defeating enemies, smashing destructible objects, and opening crates in the Overgrowth. Additionally, you can sell gear to vendors in the Hub to earn more Bright Blood.

Here's how you can use Bright Blood:

  • Loot Blades and Rails from bodies in the Overgrowth.
  • Unlock Stashes and other crates in the Overgrowth.
  • Purchase new gear from vendors in both the Overgrowth and the Hub.
  • Upgrade your gear at vendors in the Hub.

How to Get & Use Gold Ration in Hyper Light Breaker

Gold Rations are earned by completing Cycles. In the early game, you'll likely complete Cycles by dying four times and exhausting all your Rezes. After using up your Rezes, head to the Telepad in the Hub where you'll find an NPC. Hand over the requested materials to reset the Overgrowth and progress toward earning Gold Rations.

Gold Rations are vital for the game's meta-progression system. They allow you to unlock permanent upgrades through Pherus Bit in the Hub. Moreover, you can use Gold Rations to unlock new services from the Hub's vendors.

How to Get & Use Abyss Stone in Hyper Light Breaker

Abyss Stones are obtained by defeating Crowns, challenging bosses found through gates in the Overgrowth. To battle Crowns, you must first collect Prism, which are marked with yellow diamonds on the in-game map.

Like Gold Rations, Abyss Stones are used for meta-progression. They allow you to upgrade your Sycoms' stats and unlock new characters during loadout confirmation, just before entering the Overgrowth, giving you an edge in future runs.

How to Get & Use Key in Hyper Light Breaker

Keys can be found by opening small containers in the Overgrowth, though these caches are not typically marked on the map, making them somewhat elusive.

Keys are essential for bypassing barriers in the Overgrowth, granting access to Stashes and other lootable containers. They also allow entry into Labs, underground areas filled with enemies and valuable items.

How to Get & Use MediGem in Hyper Light Breaker

MediGems are crucial and can be collected from small glowing flowers in the Overgrowth. They are exchanged for Medkits when deploying from the Hub's Telepad or visiting Shrines in the Overgrowth.

Before using MediGems, you must expand your Medkit capacity to one. Visit Pherus Bit in the Hub and spend one Gold Ration to unlock the Medkit Capacity node.

How to Get & Use Core in Hyper Light Breaker

Cores are another meta-progression resource found in Stashes in the Overgrowth, marked with chest icons on the map. You can also obtain Cores by combining four Core Shards, which are dropped by enemies that award Prisms (marked with yellow diamonds) and from unmarked lootable objects like bone piles.

Cores are used to upgrade your Sycom during loadout confirmation before entering the Overgrowth, enhancing your Breakers' stats.

How to Get & Use Material in Hyper Light Breaker

Materials are mainly obtained by using Bright Blood to open small chests in the Overgrowth, often marked with gems on the map. You can also gain additional Materials by selling gear to vendors in the Hub.

Materials are used to purchase gear from vendors in both the Hub and the Overgrowth, similar to Bright Blood but with more limited applications.
