Fortnite's cosmetic items are hugely popular, with players eager to sport the latest cool skins. Epic Games' system of rotating existing skins in the item shop, however, often results in lengthy waits. While some skins, like Master Chief (after a two-year absence) and even the original Renegade Raider and Aerial Assault Trooper (after far longer), have eventually reappeared, the future of others remains uncertain.
This is particularly true for fans of Arcane. The return of Jinx and Vi skins, highly sought after since the show's first season, has become even more desired following season two's release. However, Riot Games co-founder Marc Merrill recently cast doubt on their return during a livestream.
While acknowledging the decision rests with Riot, Merrill indicated the collaboration was limited to the first season. Following considerable online disappointment, he offered a glimmer of hope, stating he would discuss the matter internally, but offered no guarantees.
The chances of these skins returning seem slim. While the potential revenue would benefit Riot, the risk of players migrating from League of Legends to Fortnite due to the skins is likely a significant concern, especially given League of Legends' current challenges. Any player shift could be detrimental to Riot.
Therefore, while future circumstances may change, it's advisable to temper expectations regarding a Jinx and Vi comeback in Fortnite.
