Crunchyroll, the leading anime streaming service, has just released the critically acclaimed rhythm roguelike, Crypt of the NecroDancer, on Android. This beat-matching adventure, simply titled "Crunchyroll: NecroDancer" on mobile, offers a unique blend of rhythm and roguelike gameplay.
Originally launched on PC in April 2015 by Brace Yourself Games, the game previously saw limited releases on iOS (2016) and Android (2021). This Crunchyroll-backed release, however, brings a significant upgrade, boasting a wealth of new content for both iOS and Android users.
What Awaits in Crypt of the NecroDancer?
Players step into the shoes of Cadence, a treasure hunter's daughter searching for her missing parent within a rhythmically challenging crypt. The roguelike nature ensures each playthrough is distinct. Fifteen playable characters, each with unique abilities and challenges, await. Danny Baranowsky's original soundtrack provides the driving beat, demanding players synchronize their moves and attacks to survive. Failure to maintain the rhythm means certain demise. Expect a cast of equally groovy enemies, from dancing skeletons to hip-hop dragons.

More Than Just a Mobile Port
This mobile version isn't just a simple port; Crunchyroll and the developers have enhanced Crypt of the NecroDancer with remixes, fresh content, and even crossover skins featuring characters from the popular anime series, Danganronpa. Cross-platform multiplayer and mod support are also included. Further expanding the experience, DLC featuring Hatsune Miku and the Synchrony expansion is slated for release later this year. Crunchyroll subscribers can download the game now from the Google Play Store. Stay tuned for more news, including the upcoming Star Trek Lower Decks x Doctor Who crossover!
