Beyond cruising and causing mayhem, Grand Theft Auto Online offers a stat-boosting system to enhance your character. Strength, impacting resilience and melee prowess, is a particularly challenging stat to level up. However, with the right strategies, boosting your Strength is achievable.
Good Old Fashioned Punching
Fighting Barehanded Raises Strength

Similar to games like The Elder Scrolls, frequent brawling increases Strength. While guns are popular, maximizing opportunities for fisticuffs is key. Landing 20 punches on any target (AI or player) grants a 1% Strength increase. Team up with a friend for efficient co-leveling.
Fail The Bar Resupply
It’s All About The Failed Delivery

The Criminal Enterprises DLC's Motorcycle Club Clubhouse Bar unlocks the repeatable "Bar Resupply" mission. Focus on missions requiring intimidation of an NPC. Repeatedly punching the NPC until the mission fails due to time constraints provides Strength gains without mission completion. Note that mission parameters may require retries.
Get A Helping Hand
Cheat One’s Way To Strength Gains

Teamwork makes the dream work! Have a friend sit in a car while you punch it repeatedly for about 10 minutes. The game registers this as targeting the occupant, granting Strength gains. Take turns for mutual benefit.
Spam A Titan Of A Job
No Need To Steal A Plane

The "A Titan of a Job" mission (unlocked at Rank 24) offers a simple Strength boost. Equip knuckle dusters and instead of stealing the plane, head to a high-pedestrian area and punch NPCs to your heart's content. The Wanted Level only triggers at the airport.
Abuse Pier Pressure
Fight Everyone At The Beach

Gerald's "Pier Pressure" mission, involving a drug deal interception, offers similar opportunities. Instead of completing the mission, head to Del Perro Beach and unleash a punching frenzy on unsuspecting NPCs. No Wanted Level means uninterrupted Strength training.
Stall Death Metal
Another Way To Abuse No-Wanted Level Missions

Gerald's "Death Metal" mission, involving sabotage at Rogers Salvage and Scrap Yard, also allows for Strength farming. The lack of a Wanted Level lets you delay the mission objective and focus on punching civilians, ideally at the beach.
Join A Fists-Only Deathmatch
For Fun, For Co-Leveling

Create or join a fists-only Deathmatch. This provides a fun and efficient way to level up Strength, and you might find other players employing the same strategy.
Create A Survival Mission
Test A Game To Oblivion

Use the Content Creator to design a Survival mission with barehanded, low-difficulty enemies. Testing this mission, even as a trial run, surprisingly increases Strength.
Close The Metro For A Fistfight
Brute-Force NPCs Into A Chokehold

Metro stations naturally funnel NPCs. Block the entrance/exit with a vehicle, trapping them for a concentrated punching session. NPCs respawn, providing a continuous supply of punching bags.
Get Golfing
A Casual Sport That Improves Strength

Surprisingly, golf improves Strength! Longer drives correlate with higher Strength stats. Play solo, with friends, or compete against others to boost your Strength while enjoying a round of golf.
