Hearthstone Battlegrounds Season 9: Cosmic Overhaul Arrives December 3rd!
Get ready for a celestial upgrade! Hearthstone's Battlegrounds Season 9 launches December 3rd, bringing a universe of changes. Prepare for a revamped minion lineup, flashy new tech, and a cosmic vibe that completely reshapes the Tavern.
Key Changes:
Bob's Technotavern is getting a major overhaul. Season 9 resets ratings and bids farewell to Trinkets, replacing them with exciting new Battlegrounds Tokens. These tokens let you reroll a hero choice at the selection screen – perfect for escaping those undesirable options.

- November 20th: Naga and Dragon reveals.
- November 21st: Quilboar and Beast reveals.
- November 22nd: Pirate and Duos-only reveals.
- November 25th: Murloc and Demon reveals.
- November 26th: Elemental and Undead reveals.
- December 2nd: Preview event streams and 31.2 patch notes.
New Additions:
Season 9 introduces three new heroes, with Farseer Nobundo already generating significant buzz with his Galaxy's Lens. Nearly 90 minions and Tavern spells are entering or leaving the pool, dramatically altering gameplay.
Damage Cap Adjustment:
A solo Battlegrounds damage cap adjustment is in place: 5 damage early game, increasing to 10 on turn 4 and 15 on turn 8. The cap is removed once you reach the top 4.
Minion Release Schedule:
The full minion pool rollout happens in stages after the December 3rd launch:
- December 3rd: Beasts, Dragons, Quilboar, Pirates, Naga, and Mechs.
- December 5th: Murlocs and Demons.
- December 9th: Undead and Elementals.
