Warner Bros. Discovery Confirms Hogwarts Legacy Sequel
A Sequel Expected Within a Few Years
Warner Bros. Discovery has officially announced plans for a sequel to Hogwarts Legacy, the critically acclaimed Harry Potter game that sold over 24 million copies since its release. During the Bank of America’s 2024 Media, Communications & Entertainment Conference, CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels stated that a sequel is a high priority for the company. As reported by Variety, Wiedenfels said, "A successor to Hogwarts Legacy is one of the biggest priorities in a couple of years down the road." He further emphasized the game's significant contribution to the company's projected growth.
Earlier this year, Warner Bros. Games' David Haddad highlighted the game's exceptional replayability as a key factor in its success. In an interview with Variety, Haddad noted the game's high replay value, stating, "Many players have gone back and played the game more than once." He expressed pride not only in the sales figures but also in the game's unique ability to bring the Harry Potter world to life in a fresh and engaging way for gamers. This immersive experience, Haddad believes, is what truly resonated with fans, propelling Hogwarts Legacy to the top of the sales charts, a position typically occupied by established franchises' sequels.
Game8 was particularly impressed by the game's stunning visuals, calling it the most visually impressive Harry Potter experience available. For a detailed review, please follow the link below.
