Get ready to celebrate the New Year in Pokémon GO! The annual New Year's event is back, running from December 30th, 2024 to January 1st, 2025. This exciting event features themed bonuses, special Pokémon encounters, and plenty of opportunities to ring in 2025 in style. Following the Community Day event (December 21st-22nd), prepare for a week of New Year's festivities!

This year's event offers a fantastic bonus: catch Pokémon with an Excellent Throw to earn a whopping 2,025 XP! Immerse yourself in the festive atmosphere with New Year's decorations and celebratory fireworks illuminating the skies.

Expect increased encounters with special, festively-dressed Pokémon! Keep an eye out for Jigglypuff with a ribbon, Hoothoot in a New Year's outfit, and Wurmple sporting a party hat. Shiny versions of these Pokémon might even make an appearance!

Raids are also getting a festive makeover. One-star raids feature a snowflake-hat-wearing Pikachu, while three-star raids bring party-hat-adorned Raticate and Wobbuffet. All three have boosted Shiny rates during the event.
