Star Wars: Hunters has announced its shutdown before even reaching its one-year milestone. Despite this, the game will still celebrate its first anniversary before closing its doors for good. This raises an interesting question: Is it worth celebrating the anniversary of a game that's on its way out?
When Is the Star Wars: Hunters Shutdown?
The servers for Star Wars: Hunters are set to go offline on October 1st, 2025, marking the end of the game after just nine months since its launch. Players have until April 15th to wrap up Season 5.Zynga, both the developer and publisher, is rolling out a final content update on April 15th. This update introduces Tuya, the last new Support Hunter, available for free. On the same day, in-game purchases will be disabled.
Ranked Mode will remain active until the servers shut down, and events from the season will be replayed. If you have any unspent Crystals, make sure to use them as there will be no refunds offered.
It Isn’t Shocking
While it's unfortunate, the shutdown of Star Wars: Hunters doesn't come as a surprise. The game faced numerous challenges from the start. Announced back in 2020, it experienced multiple delays and only conducted beta tests in the SEA and ANZAC regions.The delayed release, absence of major console support, and a tepid reception contributed to its downfall. Additionally, the game's design missed the mark. Despite the rich tapestry of iconic characters in the Star Wars universe, the developers chose to introduce generic original characters rather than fan-favorite legends.
