"Avatar: Seven Havens Announced, Post-Korra Era"

Get ready, fans of the Avatar universe! Nickelodeon and Avatar Studios have just announced an exciting new addition to the beloved franchise: Avatar: Seven Havens. This announcement comes as part of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the original series, Avatar: The Last Airbender, created by Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko.

Avatar: Seven Havens is set to be a 26-episode, 2D animated series that will follow the journey of a young Earthbender, who is revealed to be the next Avatar after Korra. The series is set in a world that has been shattered by a devastating cataclysm. In this new era, the young Earthbender discovers her role as the Avatar, but instead of being seen as a savior, she is marked as humanity's destroyer. Hunted by both human and spirit enemies, she and her long-lost twin embark on a quest to uncover their mysterious origins and save the Seven Havens, the last strongholds of civilization.

In their statement, Konietzko and DiMartino expressed their excitement about expanding the Avatarverse, saying, "When we created the original series, we never imagined we’d still be expanding the world decades later. This new incarnation of the Avatarverse is full of fantasy, mystery, and a whole new cast of amazing characters."

The series will be divided into two seasons, each consisting of 13 episodes, forming Book 1 and Book 2. DiMartino and Konietzko are co-creating the series alongside executive producers Ethan Spaulding and Sehaj Sethi. While the cast has yet to be announced, anticipation is already building for this new chapter in the Avatar saga.

This marks the first mainline TV series from Avatar Studios, who are also working on a full-length animated movie centered around an adult Aang. The movie is slated to premiere in theaters on January 30, 2026, and promises to take fans on a new adventure with the beloved character.

As part of the 20th anniversary celebrations, Avatar Studios is also launching a range of new books, comics, concerts, toys, and a game in Roblox, ensuring that fans have plenty of ways to engage with the Avatar universe as it continues to grow and evolve.
