The third-generation Apple AirPods Pro deliver outstanding noise cancellation, though their $250 price tag can be steep for some. Rather than patiently funding Apple’s next product cycle, I took advantage of the Amazon Prime Day Sale in July and purchased the Baseus Bass BP1 Pro earbuds. While I paid slightly more than their current price—all three colors are now $19.59 for Prime members using coupon code "X6F6U5M6"—I walked away genuinely pleased. These aren't $250-level earbuds, but they outperform typical $20 disposable audio gear.

Make no mistake: the AirPods Pro are excellent. My wife still relies on her first-gen Lightning model, which clearly outshines the Baseus BP1 Pro in sound quality, active noise cancellation, and especially iPhone integration. Still, the BP1 Pro holds its own—it’s far from 12 times worse.
Like the AirPods Pro, the BP1 Pro features a true wireless design with active noise cancellation. It creates a snug ear seal for passive isolation and comes with five ear tip sizes (I have smaller ears but found a good fit). This design alone makes it preferable to the non-pro AirPods 3, which don't seal at all. Audio quality is surprisingly solid, with impressive bass response for the price. Noise cancellation is functional, though not industry-leading: background noises become muted, but I could still hold a conversation with ANC enabled. That said, even AirPods Pro don’t fully block out voices—true silence usually comes from quality over-ear headphones. A transparency mode is also available when you need to hear your surroundings.
As a recent release, the Baseus BP1 Pro supports Bluetooth 6.0 and Bluetooth Multipoint, letting you connect to two devices at once—ideal for non-Apple users. It carries an IP55 rating, offering better protection against water jets and dust than AirPods Pro 2 (IP54), though falling short of AirPods Pro 3 (IP57). Battery life clocks up to 12 hours without ANC (7 hours with ANC), and the charging case extends total playback to 55 hours (36 hours with ANC).
At just around $20—the price of a burrito where I live—trying these earbuds is a minimal risk, especially with Amazon’s straightforward 30-day return policy. If you were eyeing the AirPods Pro 3 but end up satisfied with the BP1 Pro, give yourself a pat on the back for saving over $230.
