These newly revealed cards are part of the "Through the Ages" bonus sheet, included within the broader main set. They represent reprints of existing Magic cards, reimagined with captivating artwork and characters from various Final Fantasy titles. While they don't introduce new mechanics or unique cards like those seen in the recent showcases or Commander decks, they bring with them artwork that spans from the very first Final Fantasy game to the present.

0$7.99 at TCGPlayerThe Through the Ages cards are not eligible for play in Magic's Standard format, but they retain their legality if the original card was already playable. These cards serve as alternate art versions and can be found in the premium Collector Boosters as well as one in every three regular Play Boosters, which are ideal for Limited events such as Draft and Sealed.
If you're planning to dive deep into this set, either at your local game store or online via platforms like Magic: The Gathering Arena, you'll likely encounter these cards often. Five of these six cards are classified as Rares, making them less frequent, but the Uncommon Thrum of the Vestige, which is a reskin of the iconic Lightning Bolt, is poised to have a significant impact on the set.
The Warrior of Light reprint of Jodah, the Unifier, is sure to be a fan favorite - Jodah is a potent and popular Commander, and the artwork here is Amano's from the original Final Fantasy's Japanese boxart. Likewise, Amano's iconic art for Final Fantasy 4's Cecil Harvey has been beautifully repurposed for Tymna the Weaver, a powerful partner commander that has only been reprinted once prior to this. These cards will be available physically within the larger Final Fantasy set starting June 13, with digital versions launching on MTG Arena and MTGO on June 10. And for Final Fantasy enthusiasts who haven't yet explored Magic, there's still something to look forward to: Tetsuya Nomura, the director of the FF7 Remake series, has hinted that Sephiroth's card features a unique design for a mysterious reason.
