Here's your comprehensive guide on how to unlock the Deep Woods and discover the whereabouts of Caldarus within *Fields of Mistria*.

How To Unlock the Deep Woods in Fields of Mistria

To unlock the Deep Woods, you must first break the Fire Seal and utilize the newly acquired Dragon’s Breath spell to clear the vines that have been concealing the entrance in *Fields of Mistria*. Start by assembling four essential items for the Priestess’ Fire Seal altar, located on Floor 60 of the mines: a Faceted Rock Gem, a Rockroot, an Emerald, and a Sealing Scroll. You can gather the first three items between floors 50 and 59, but obtaining the Sealing Scroll requires a collaboration with Juniper and Balor.

To aid Balor in procuring the Sealing Scroll, you need to leave the following items in the bin by his wagon:

• x10 Silver Ingots
• x10 Rubies
• x10 Sapphires
• x10 Emeralds

Once you've met these requirements, a conversation with Balor will confirm that the Sealing Scroll will be ready the next day, allowing you to complete the offering.

The act of breaking magical seals usually culminates in a few words of wisdom from the mysterious mines Priestess, signaling the unlock of a new biome. However, this particular endeavor takes an unexpected turn. Instead of a successful outcome, the Priestess urgently warns you to flee before the Sealing Scroll inadvertently traps you inside. With your health dangerously low, Caldarus comes to your rescue, assuming his human form and retreating to his temple in the Deep Woods to regain his strength.

Caldarus then directs you to find him at his temple, bestowing upon you the Dragon’s Breath spell. This powerful offensive spell is your key to burning through the vines that obscure the Deep Woods entrance in *Fields of Mistria*. Additionally, it can be used to reveal other previously inaccessible areas across the map. Simply select Dragon’s Breath from the pause menu, and while standing before the area's entrance, cast the spell to permanently unlock the Deep Woods and beyond.

How To Find Caldarus

Once the Fire Seal is broken, you can locate Caldarus within his temple nestled in the Deep Woods. This area lies to the north of the Eastern Road on your map, and accessing it requires the use of the Dragon’s Breath spell. Caldarus' precise location is marked on the map, just like any other NPC. You'll find him waiting in the northeast corner of the area.

To reach him, enter the Deep Woods, head right, and use your axe to chop down the obstructive stump. Continue north until you reach the temple, where Caldarus awaits inside.

After unlocking the Deep Woods area in *Fields of Mistria*, you can utilize the Dragon Statue on your farm for a convenient fast travel option to the Deep Woods and to visit Caldarus at any time. The teleportation cost is a mere 10 Essence, making it a cost-effective choice compared to traveling on foot or horseback.

Moreover, you can still engage with Caldarus through his statue, connecting with him in spirit.
