Two Pokémon from the Galar region are making their debut in Pokémon Go this month, offering a mix of sweetness and fiery excitement. The Sweet Discoveries event, running from April 24th to 29th, introduces the adorable Dragon/Grass-type Applin. To evolve Applin, you'll need 200 Applin Candy and 20 apples. Use Tart Apples to evolve it into Flapple, or Sweet Apples for Appletun. These apples can be found in the wild, particularly around areas with Mossy Lures, and may also trigger Applin encounters.
During the Sweet Discoveries event, you'll encounter wild spawns like Bounsweet, Skwovet, and Delibird. Additional opportunities to catch themed Pokémon such as Munchlax and Cherubi are available through Field Research and Eggs. You can acquire Sweet and Tart Apples via Timed Research, which offers both free and paid paths. The paid version provides extra Mossy Lure Modules and more encounters, including Applin.
Don't miss out on the Applin Headband and Apron available in the shop, and be sure to participate in PokéStop Showcases featuring themed Pokémon. If you're more interested in powerful encounters, mark your calendar for April 26th–27th for the Max Battle Weekend featuring the debut of Dynamax Entei. Keep an eye out for a chance to encounter a Shiny Entei.
Prepare for these events with these Pokémon Go codes!
Event bonuses include an increased Max Particle cap, reduced distance needed to collect them, and faster Power Spot refresh rates. You'll earn eight times more Max Particles from each Power Spot you visit. Leading up to the event, free Timed Research starts on April 21st, rewarding you with a Dynamax Sobble to help counter Entei's fiery attacks.
