Extinction serves as the thrilling conclusion to the main ARK narrative, introducing a unique set of challenges that build on the experiences from Scorched Earth and Aberration. In this post-apocalyptic landscape, water sources have vanished, pushing survivors to innovate in their quest for resources. The setting is Earth after a catastrophic event, where you, as a lone survivor, delve into the mysteries behind the creation of the Ark system.

Alongside the new map, several updates have been rolled out. Players can now benefit from a new Thick Skin insulation buff, enhancing survival capabilities. In multiplayer PVE, creatures will no longer camp in fixed locations, helping to prevent griefing. Additionally, there's a new limit on the number of light sources to reduce spammy builds.
