Assassin's Creed Shadows' "Claws of Awaji" DLC Details Leak on Steam
A Steam leak has reportedly revealed details about the first DLC for Assassin's Creed Shadows, titled "Claws of Awaji." This expansion, set in feudal Japan, promises a significant addition to the already anticipated game.
Assassin's Creed Shadows, the series' first foray into East Asia, features dual protagonists: Yasuke, a Samurai, and Naoe, a Shinobi. The game's development has been fraught with challenges, including negative feedback and multiple delays – the most recent pushing the release date to March 20, 2025.
The leaked information, originating from a now-deleted Steam update (as reported by Insider Gaming), details "Claws of Awaji" as including a new region, weapon type, skills, gear, and abilities. The DLC is estimated to add over 10 hours of gameplay. Pre-ordering the game will reportedly grant access to both the "Claws of Awaji" DLC and a bonus mission.
This leak follows Ubisoft's recent announcement of another delay for Assassin's Creed Shadows. Originally slated for November 15, 2024, then shifted to February 14, 2025, the game's further postponement to March 20, 2025, has disappointed fans. The delay, attributed to the need for further polishing and refinement, adds to the challenges facing Ubisoft, a company currently navigating rumors of a potential Tencent acquisition amidst underperforming titles like XDefiant and Star Wars Outlaws.
