In *Assassin’s Creed Shadows*, once you unlock the Hideout, you can personalize your space by adding pets and other animals for companionship. Here’s how to bring these furry friends into your Hideout.
How to Unlock Animals in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
To unlock animals for your Hideout, Naoe or Yasuke can interact with different breeds of cats and dogs throughout the game. Each new breed you encounter and pet will be available to add to your Hideout. This includes various dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens, such as the stray you save in the pre-order DLC quest "Thrown to the Dogs."
Yasuke also has the unique ability to unlock smaller animals by painting them. This includes rabbits, fox kits, tanukis, and monkeys, which you can document in the wild and then add to your Hideout.
Additionally, you can purchase farm animals like oxen and goats from vendors across Japan, using varying amounts of mon.
How to Add Animals to the Hideout in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
(Ubisoft)
To add animals to your Hideout, enter the Hiroma and approach the bench to access the customization menu. Switch to build mode and navigate to the wolf icon on the far right. This section will display all the animal types you've unlocked, categorized into dogs, cats, and "other."
Choose the animal you wish to add, and you’ll be taken to an overhead view of the Hideout. Select an open grid on the map to place your new companion. Keep in mind that animals will roam freely once you return to game mode, so they won't always be in the same spot when you're looking for some cuddles.
You can add multiple instances of the same animal, including the pup from "Thrown to the Dogs." However, there's a limit to the total number of animals you can have at once. You can always remove or replace animals in build mode to refresh your selection.
That's how you can enhance your Hideout in *Assassin’s Creed Shadows* with a variety of animals, making it a cozy and lively space.
*Assassin’s Creed Shadows is available now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.*
