Atomfall: New Gameplay Trailer Unveils Post-Apocalyptic England
Rebellion Developments' upcoming first-person survival game, Atomfall, plunges players into a chilling alternate 1960s England devastated by nuclear war. A recent seven-minute gameplay trailer offers a substantial look at the game's mechanics and setting. Fans of Fallout and STALKER will find familiar elements in Atomfall's exploration of quarantine zones, dilapidated villages, and abandoned research bunkers. Survival hinges on scavenging resources and facing threats from hostile robots and fanatical cultists.
The trailer highlights a blend of melee and ranged combat. While the showcased weaponry – a cricket bat, revolver, shotgun, and bolt-action rifle – appears initially limited, the game promises weapon upgrades and a wider arsenal to discover. Resourcefulness is key, with crafting playing a central role in creating healing items and offensive tools like Molotov cocktails and sticky bombs. A metal detector aids in uncovering hidden supplies and crafting materials during exploration. Character progression involves collecting training manuals and unlocking skills across four categories: melee combat, ranged combat, survival techniques, and physical conditioning.
Previously showcased at Xbox's Summer Game Fest, Atomfall initially shared the spotlight with major titles like Gears of War: E-Day and Perfect Dark. However, its inclusion in the Xbox Game Pass on launch day immediately generated significant interest.
Launching March 27th on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC (and day one on Xbox Game Pass), Atomfall's developers have promised another in-depth video soon, encouraging fans to follow Rebellion's social media channels for updates.
