Two Parts To Beta Testing
Mark your calendars, because Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is gearing up for its multiplayer beta in two exciting phases. The early access beta kicks off on August 30th and runs until September 4th, exclusively for those who have pre-ordered Black Ops 6 or are currently subscribed to specific Game Pass plans. Following that, the beta opens up to everyone from September 6th to 9th, giving all aspiring players a chance to dive into the action.
Don't miss out on the next chapter of this iconic franchise! The full game is scheduled to launch on October 25, 2024, and will be available on PC via Steam, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4. Plus, it will be accessible through Xbox Game Pass on day one!
New And Updated Mechanics
The podcast also unveiled some thrilling details about Black Ops 6, shared by Matt Scronce, Treyarch’s associate director of design. On launch, players can expect 16 multiplayer maps, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 versatile Strike maps that can be played in 6v6 or 2v2 formats. The beloved Zombies mode makes a triumphant return with two new maps to explore.
A groundbreaking feature, 'Omnimovement', is set to revolutionize gameplay. Additionally, the traditional score streak system, a fan-favorite from past iterations, is making a comeback. This system, which was absent in the most recent Black Ops: Cold War, will reset scores upon player elimination. Another exciting addition is the dedicated melee weapon slot, allowing players to carry a knife without sacrificing their secondary weapon—a feature that the Treyarch team is particularly enthusiastic about.
Stay tuned for the full Black Ops 6 multiplayer reveal at the Call of Duty Next event on August 28.
