Best Buy Opens Nintendo Switch 2 Preorders April 2

According to a recent official blog post from Best Buy Canada, pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 will begin on April 2, coinciding with the Switch 2 Direct presentation.

The blog post serves as a complete guide for securing a pre-order and explicitly states: "Pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 will open on April 2nd at Best Buy Canada."

It remains unconfirmed whether this April 2 pre-order date is exclusive to Best Buy Canada or if other major retailers will also start accepting orders on the same day.

Best Buy's U.S. Nintendo Switch 2 page currently does not list a pre-order start date, but it does offer users the option to sign up for alerts regarding pre-order announcements.

The Switch 2 was officially unveiled earlier this year. A brief trailer from Nintendo confirmed the new hardware, showcased a brand new Mario Kart title, and concluded with the announcement of a dedicated Switch 2 Direct event scheduled for April 2.

Nintendo also recently held a Nintendo Direct focused on the current Nintendo Switch. This presentation, which aired today, March 27, at 10am EST, featured over 30 minutes of coverage on upcoming Switch games. Additionally, Nintendo announced a "Nintendo Today" smartphone app designed to deliver the latest Switch 2 news directly to users following the next Nintendo Direct.

Nintendo is also organizing a series of fan events in the week following the Direct. North American events will be held in New York (April 4-6), Los Angeles (April 11-13), Dallas (April 25-27), and Toronto (April 25-27).

European events are scheduled for Paris (April 4-6), London (April 11-13), Milan (April 25-27), Berlin (April 25-27), Madrid (May 9-11), and Amsterdam (May 9-11). Additional fan events will take place in Melbourne (May 10-11), Tokyo (April 26-27), and Seoul (May 31-June 1).
