Call of Duty: Warzone players are experiencing game freezes and crashes during loading screens, sometimes resulting in unfair penalties. While a permanent fix is still under development, developers have implemented a temporary solution.
The Problem: Players reported widespread game freezes and crashes while loading into matches, leading to frustration and unwarranted penalties, including Skill Rating (SR) deductions and temporary match bans. This issue emerged despite a major game update in early January 2025.
The Temporary Fix: In response to player complaints, Raven Software announced on January 9th that they've temporarily suspended SR penalties and timeouts for players disconnecting before joining Ranked matches. Penalties will still apply to players who leave mid-match. This addresses player concerns about unfair punishments caused by the bug.
Ongoing Concerns: Although the penalty suspension offers immediate relief, the underlying loading screen crash issue remains unresolved. The persistence of bugs, even after recent updates, continues to be a source of concern for the Warzone community. The developers are actively working on a permanent solution.
