Critical Role, the beloved Dungeons & Dragons series featuring voice actors like Matthew Mercer, Laura Bailey, Travis Willingham, and others, is set to conclude its epic Campaign 3 next week. The finale will be a special eight-and-a-half-hour stream, kicking off on February 6 at 7pm Pacific / 10pm Eastern. For fans in the UK, that's February 7 at 3am. You can catch the finale live on Critical Role's YouTube and Twitch channels, as well as on their exclusive membership platform, Beacon.
This final episode will wrap up the adventures of the Bells Hells party, which began in October 2021. While there are no confirmed spin-offs or sequels for this specific story, Critical Role has assured fans that more tales from the world of Exandria will continue to unfold.
"This finale for Campaign 3 marks the end of one very epic chapter of Exandrian history," said Marisha Ray, the show's creative director and a cast member. "But while we celebrate the end of this chapter, I think it’s important to know that the story continues with a simple turn of the page. I’m very excited to see what happens next in this story that remains to be written by the incredible emergent storytellers who are picking up the pen."
The end of Campaign 3 won't slow down Critical Role's regular programming. A new spin-off series, Exandria Unlimited, will premiere its first of four episodes on February 14, and other shows and streams are expected to follow.
As for the next big adventure, Critical Role has yet to announce the start date for Campaign 4. Historically, there's a few months' gap between campaigns, with the first Vox Machina series ending in October 2017 and the second Mighty Nein series starting in January 2018. Campaign 3 began in October 2021, following the end of Mighty Nein in June of that year.
Fans shouldn't have to wait too long for news on the next chapter. With Critical Role's 10-year anniversary approaching on March 12, it might be the perfect occasion for an announcement, if not the actual launch of a new series.
