The strategic tower defense game, Code Geass: Lost Stories, is ending its global run. While the Japanese version will continue, the international servers are officially shutting down. Developed by f4samurai and DMM Games, and published by Komoe, the game, based on the popular Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion franchise, launched globally in September 2023 and will cease operations on August 29th, 2024.
Shutdown Date:
Code Geass: Lost Stories will be unavailable after August 29th, 2024. Account access will be terminated, and official global social media channels will also close on this date. In-app purchases and new downloads are already disabled.
Reasons for Shutdown:
While no official reason was given, the game's low download numbers and generally unfavorable global reviews likely contributed to its closure. Many anime-licensed gacha games struggle to maintain a substantial player base outside Japan, where player spending tends to be higher. The game's short lifespan, failing to reach its first anniversary, further underscores its struggles in the global market.
Japanese players can still access the game on the Google Play Store. For more gaming news, check out our other articles, including the upcoming Sky: Children of the Light Olympics, the Tournament of Triumph!
