Divinity 2: Unlocking Ship's Passage Revealed

Author : George Update:Jan 26,2025

This guide details how to get the Lady Vengeance sailing in Divinity: Original Sin 2 after escaping Fort Joy. The process involves a series of puzzles and interactions.

Quick Links

After removing your Source collar, you'll find yourself on the Lady Vengeance. The ship's controls are unconventional; you must find a unique method to start it. Explore, talk to NPCs, and gather clues to access Magister Dallis' cabin and the Ancient Songbook.

Investigate Dead Bodies

Begin by searching the bodies of the magisters and gheists on deck. A Sodden Diary on one corpse contains the password to a stateroom door. You can also obtain the password via a skill check with the northern stateroom door. You'll also need a Strange Gem, found later, to interact with the door. A magic mirror nearby allows for unlimited respeccing of your party.

Find the Portside Stateroom Door

Using the password from the diary (or skill check), and possessing the Strange Gem (obtained from Bishop Alexander's regalia), unlock the Portside Stateroom door. Interact with the unconscious Bishop Alexander to find the gem. The password is "Fortitude." Inside Dallis' cabin, you'll find a hidden hatch containing gheists and a Teleportation Prism.

Find the Ancient Empire Songbook

Talk to Dallis and exhaust his dialogue options. Locate the Ancient Empire Songbook on a pedestal in Dallis' cabin. Reading it reveals the song needed to move the ship. It's advisable to talk to all NPCs before proceeding, as interaction will be impossible once the ship sails.

Set Sail

Go to the ship's deck and speak to Malady. After telling her about the songbook, she'll ask you to sing to the ship. Find the dragon figurine on the west side of the deck and interact with it, choosing the option to sing. The Lady Vengeance will begin to move, initiating a challenging battle with powerful magisters. Ensure your party is prepared.
