DOOM launched on Apple's Lightning/HDMI adapter

The DOOM community's inventive spirit shines through again! A recent feat involves running the iconic DOOM game on an unexpected platform: Apple's Lightning/HDMI adapter. NyanSatan, the tech-savvy individual behind this accomplishment, leveraged the adapter's iOS-based firmware and 168 MHz processor. The process involved accessing the firmware and then executing the game, utilizing a MacBook to overcome the adapter's lack of internal memory.

This news coincides with updates on DOOM: The Dark Ages. A key focus for this iteration is accessibility. Players will enjoy extensive customization options, unlike previous id Software titles. Demon aggression can be adjusted in the game's settings, allowing for a more tailored experience.

Executive producer Marty Stratton highlighted the studio's commitment to accessibility. He confirmed that players can modify enemy damage, difficulty, projectile speed, damage received, and other parameters such as game pace, aggression levels, and parry timing. Furthermore, Stratton confirmed that prior DOOM experience isn't necessary to understand the storylines of DOOM: The Dark Ages or DOOM: Eternal.
