Fake Elden Ring Nightreign Invites Circulated by Scammers

Author : Olivia Update:May 20,2025

Emails verifying participation in the closed testing of Elden Ring: Nightreign, scheduled for February 14–17, 2025, are now being dispatched by Bandai Namco. These lucky players will be among the first to dive into the game's three-person cooperative mode, as outlined in the official correspondence.

Given Nightreign's soaring popularity, it's no surprise that scammers are capitalizing on this excitement by distributing fake testing invitations. Some players have reported receiving emails masquerading as official Bandai Namco notifications, which falsely claim to offer a chance to participate in the testing phase. These fraudulent emails contain links directing to counterfeit websites that mimic the look of Steam.

Upon clicking these links, players risk losing access to their accounts. In some instances, players have received similar deceptive messages from their friends, who may have already fallen victim to the scam. Fortunately, some affected users were able to recover their accounts by reaching out to Steam's support team.

It's crucial to exercise caution with links and always verify the authenticity of the sources. If in doubt, it's safest to consult official channels and steer clear of suspicious links.

In related news, players will notice a significant change in Elden Ring: Nightreign: the removal of the message-leaving feature, a staple in FromSoftware games. In an interview, project director Junya Ishizaki explained the decision, stating that during the approximately forty-minute-long gaming sessions, players would not have sufficient time to leave or check messages. Consequently, the messaging feature has been disabled to streamline the gaming experience.
