The excitement around Donkey Kong Bananza has reached new heights with the discovery of a secret banana alphabet, decoded by a dedicated fan before the game's official release. This intriguing development showcases the passion and dedication of the game's fanbase, eager to uncover every detail about the upcoming title.

Ancient Monkey Scrolls

Even though Donkey Kong Bananza hasn't hit the shelves yet, a fan named 2Chrispy has already cracked a secret banana alphabet, which he dubbed the "Ancient Monkey Scrolls." On April 27, 2Chrispy shared his findings in a YouTube video titled "I Decoded the Ancient Monkey Scrolls of Donkey Kong Bananza." The secret language has been subtly integrated into the game's trailers, gameplay footage, and official website, adding an extra layer of mystery and engagement for fans.

Creating an invented language for a game isn't a new concept; Nintendo previously did this with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s Hylian language. However, decoding a secret language before the game's launch is a rare feat, demonstrating the intense dedication of Donkey Kong fans. While the secret alphabet hasn't been officially confirmed, 2Chrispy's detailed analysis and methodical approach have convinced many that he has accurately interpreted the symbols.

Thanks, Chip Exchange

In his video, 2Chrispy explained how he deciphered the "bananbet" starting with the phrase "Chip Exchange." When players collect a Banandium Chip in the game, a prompt appears stating, "Trade these for bananas at any Chip Exchange." By meticulously reviewing the game's trailers frame-by-frame, 2Chrispy identified the "Chip Exchange" location and used it as a starting point for his decoding efforts.

He noticed that the symbols on the "Chip Exchange" signage corresponded to the number of letters in "exchange," with the repeated letter "e" supporting his theory. He then applied this method to other symbols found in various screenshots and trailers, utilizing a word finder app to piece together the alphabet. Although these findings are currently theoretical, the thoroughness and dedication behind 2Chrispy's work are undeniably impressive.

As fans eagerly await more news about Donkey Kong Bananza, this discovery has spurred further enthusiasm and curiosity. The game is set to launch on July 17, 2025, exclusively on the Nintendo Switch 2.
