Fantastic Four Final Trailer: Galactus Devours Earth

Author : Owen Update:Jan 08,2026

Marvel Studios has unveiled the final trailer for "The Fantastic Four: First Steps," giving fans new dialogue from Julia Garner as the Silver Surfer and a more detailed look at Ralph Ineson's Galactus. While the trailer purposefully withholds a full view of Galactus's face—despite merchandise having already revealed it—the footage powerfully conveys the villain's immense scale and terrifying presence.

The preview may have even disclosed the specific method Galactus intends to use to consume Earth, all hinging on one crucial, brief scene. Here’s a breakdown of how the planet-devourer might threaten the Fantastic Four's home.

How Will Galactus Actually Consume the Earth?

A particularly intriguing shot in the trailer reveals a colossal, arc-shaped machine operating in Paris, projecting energy skyward. This likely isn't one of Reed Richards' creations. Instead, evidence suggests this device is central to Galactus's plan to drain the planet.

This appears to be one of several Elemental Converters.

In Marvel's comics, Galactus typically employs a tool called an Elemental Converter to process planets. Despite his gigantic size, he cannot simply swallow a world whole. The converter breaks down a planet's matter and organic material into a form that can satisfy his eternal hunger. While an impatient Galactus might occasionally take a literal bite, this technological method is his standard procedure.

The trailer seems to show these Elemental Converters activating around the globe. We can infer that Galactus and the Silver Surfer are deploying these arc-like structures to begin transforming Earth into sustenance. Therefore, the Fantastic Four's best chance to save their world may be to target and disable these machines, cutting off Galactus's supply.

Will the heroes succeed? This is the central mystery heading into "First Steps" (alongside questions about Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom). The story must provide a compelling reason for the FF to leave their universe and enter the MCU. A post-credits scene in "The New Avengers" already shows them fleeing to a new reality. Could they be escaping an Earth destroyed by Galactus? This would be a dramatic and unexpected conclusion for the team's inaugural MCU film.

"The Fantastic Four: First Steps" arrives in theaters on July 25, 2025. For more, explore the significance of Vanessa Kirby's Sue Storm being pregnant and catch up on all upcoming Marvel movies and series in development.
