Remedy Entertainment has exciting news for fans of the Control universe: FBC: Firebreak is set to launch on June 17, 2025. This new title is a session-based, multiplayer PvE experience that promises to deliver thrilling, replayable missions known as Jobs. Each Job will present unique challenges, objectives, and environments, emphasizing teamwork and adaptability among players.
FBC: Firebreak will be available across multiple platforms, including PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store), Xbox Series X and S, and PlayStation 5, priced at $39.99 / €39.99 / £32.99. Gamers can also access it on day one through PC Game Pass, Game Pass Ultimate, and the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog (Extra and Premium tiers). Notably, this marks Remedy's first venture into self-publishing.
Alongside the standard edition, Remedy has unveiled the FBC: Firebreak Deluxe Edition, which comes at a price of $49.99 / €49.99 / £39.99. The Deluxe Edition boasts an array of exclusive cosmetics and premium voice packs. Owners of the base game can upgrade to the Deluxe Edition for just $10 / €10 / £7. The Deluxe Edition includes:
- “The Firestarter” Premium Voice Pack
- “The Pencil Pusher” Premium Voice Pack
- Firestarter Armor Set, Apex Revision (Helmet, Body Armor, Gloves)
- Scorched Remnant Double-Barrel Shotgun Skin
- Golden Firebreak Spray
- Classified Requisition: “Firestarter”: A collection of 36 unlockable cosmetic items including weapon skins, sprays, and armor sets
According to the official description, FBC: Firebreak introduces a Requisitions system, which rewards players with new gear and cosmetics just for playing the game. Players can unlock weapons, equipment, armor, sprays, and more using in-game currency earned through gameplay. Importantly, there are no limited-time windows or rotating stores; once an item is added to the game, it remains available permanently.
For those seeking additional customization options, Classified Requisitions offer premium cosmetic items, such as armor sets, custom voice packs, sprays, and weapon skins. These can be purchased with real money, but they are purely cosmetic and have no impact on gameplay. You can learn more about how Requisitions work here.
Remedy has also committed to ongoing support post-launch, with plans to introduce two new Jobs in 2025 and more updates in 2026. All new playable content, such as Jobs, will be free to all players. While players can purchase additional cosmetics, these items will not affect gameplay, and there will be no limited-time rotations or daily log-ins.
Remedy is currently juggling multiple projects alongside FBC: Firebreak, including Control 2 and the Max Payne and Max Payne 2 remake compilation, making it a bustling period for the developer.
