"Feral Interactive Releases Imperium Update for ROME: Total War"

The classic strategy game, *ROME: Total War*, which made its debut on Android back in 2018, has just received a monumental free update from Feral Interactive. Dubbed the Imperium Update, it brings a slew of gameplay enhancements, control refinements, and quality-of-life upgrades to the game. Fans of this epic title are in for a treat as they dive into these new features. Plus, keep an eye out for the same update rolling out to the standalone expansions, Barbarian Invasion and Alexander, next week.

What Does the Imperium Update Bring to ROME: Total War?

The Imperium Update integrates some of the most beloved features from Feral's newer mobile titles, such as *Total War: MEDIEVAL II* and *EMPIRE*. Players can now enjoy three new control options: Positioning Mode, Melee Mode, and Automatic Deselection. These additions enhance your command over units, making battles more strategic and precise. Now, you can easily move your army, agents, or fleets by simply tapping and holding, eliminating the need to manually drag paths.

Positioning Mode allows for meticulous unit placement with a tap-and-hold mechanism. The Group Grid feature simplifies managing unit groups with a collapsible selection menu. Meanwhile, Melee Mode enables ranged units to switch to close combat when the situation demands it.

A standout feature of the update is the Command Slowdown, which automatically reduces the game speed when you're issuing complex orders, giving you more time to strategize. Additionally, for the first time, keyboard and mouse support has been introduced for Android and iPad users, enhancing the gaming experience.

The minimap in *ROME: Total War* has been revamped to resemble the one in *MEDIEVAL II*, offering smoother zooming and navigation. A new reset button allows you to quickly return to the default view, making it easier to keep track of the battlefield.
