Ghost of Yōtei New Trailer
Coming on October 2, 2025
PlayStation and Sucker Punch Productions have officially announced the release date for the highly anticipated sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, titled Ghost of Yōtei. On April 23, a new trailer titled "The Onryō’s List" was released, offering a glimpse into the game's storyline and gameplay. The trailer culminates with the announcement of the game's release date: October 2, 2025.
Ghost of Yōtei follows the journey of Atsu in the heart of Ezo (present-day Hokkaido), as she seeks vengeance against the notorious Yōtei Six, the group responsible for the murder of her family and her near-death experience. Her mission is to track down and confront each member of the group: The Snake, The Oni, The Kitsune, The Spider, The Dragon, and Lord Saito.
This standalone sequel is set 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima. Earlier this year, the developers shared insights into the game's new features, including an array of new weapons, innovative mechanics, and more, building on the foundation laid by its predecessor.
Hunt Down The Yōtei Six Your Way
In Ghost of Yōtei, players have the freedom to hunt down the Yōtei Six in any order they prefer, crafting their unique path of vengeance. Sucker Punch elaborated on the game’s features in a detailed post on PlayStation.blog on April 23, shedding light on Atsu’s journey and the unfolding narrative.
The game introduces an enhanced open-world exploration system, offering players greater freedom and variety compared to Ghost of Tsushima. Beyond the primary quest of hunting the Yōtei Six, players can engage in a variety of activities in Ezo, including tracking down other dangerous targets, claiming bounties, and learning new skills from weapon sensei.
As players explore, they'll encounter familiar activities from the previous game, including the beloved "Guiding Wind" feature. A new mechanic allows players to build campfires anywhere in the open world, emphasizing the freedom to choose and explore in the vast land of Ezo. The developers are eager to reveal more about the game in the coming months.
