Hearthstone is gearing up for an exciting Year of the Raptor in 2025, packed with surprises, innovative gameplay, and fresh features. Fans can look forward to the traditional triple dose of expansions, Mini-Sets, and Battlegrounds seasons, all set to be released soon. The Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set received such a warm response that Blizzard is eager to maintain the momentum throughout the year. They've even unveiled a roadmap, offering a glimpse into Hearthstone's near future.
What Does the Year of the Raptor Bring to Hearthstone?
One of the most anticipated updates is the revamp of Arena, which has been in development since last year and is now ready to launch. This update aims to revitalize Arena, a mode that's been part of Hearthstone since its inception, attracting a new wave of players.
Cosmetics are also getting a significant upgrade. New Mythic skins, Signature cards, and the introduction of Pets are on the horizon. Pets will be integrated into a new system for acquiring cosmetics, though Blizzard is keeping the full details under wraps for now.
The Year of the Raptor officially begins with the first expansion, "Into the Emerald Dream." Card reveals are slated to start next week, and an in-game celebration is already underway. Players can earn rewards such as The Great Dark Beyond Epic cards, packs from the new expansion, and a Raptor Herald card by completing the Event Track.
What Else Is Coming?
Alongside the expansion, a new evolving game board will be introduced. The Year of the Raptor board will be a constant presence in Hearthstone throughout the year, receiving visual and audio updates with each new expansion.
Additionally, the Core Set is set for a refresh. Classic cards are returning, albeit with some modifications, and new cards will be added to the mix. With all these exciting developments on the horizon, now might be the perfect time to dive back into Hearthstone. If you haven't already, you can grab it from the Google Play Store.
