Morefun Studios' highly anticipated 3D action game, previously known as Hitori no Shita: The Outcast, is back with a new name and release date! Now titled The Hidden Ones, this martial arts brawler is set to launch in 2025, with a pre-alpha test scheduled for January.
Based on the popular webcomic, The Hidden Ones takes place in modern-day China and follows the journey of young martial artist Zhang Chulan. His grandfather's unique martial arts techniques attract unwanted attention from the world of martial arts, thrusting him into a thrilling adventure.
The recently released gameplay trailer (see below) showcases impressive 3D combat, including parkour-style movements, energy projectile attacks, and intense brawling sequences. Secondary protagonist Wang Ye also makes an appearance.
A Darker, Grittier Aesthetic
Information on The Hidden Ones has been scarce, adding to the intrigue surrounding this title. What stands out is its darker, more grounded aesthetic, a refreshing change from other 3D ARPGs. The game's success will likely depend on its ability to attract players unfamiliar with the source material.
