IO Interactive 宣布，《杀手：世界暗杀》玩家数量突破 7500 万。这一数字堪称里程碑式成就，也让这款游戏成为 IO Interactive迄今为止最成功的作品之一。

需要注意的是，《杀手：世界暗杀》并非单一游戏，而是三部曲合集。在三部曲第三作发行两年后，IO Interactive 将最新的三款《杀手》游戏整合为一个套装，同时依然允许玩家单独购买其中的游戏。该合集于 2023 年 1 月在 PC 和主机平台重新发行，并在 2024 年 9 月登陆 Meta Quest 3。

1月 10 日，IO Interactive 在推特上宣布《杀手：世界暗杀》的终身玩家数量达到 7500 万。工作室将此称为“非凡的”成就，并补充说其业务目前“比以往任何时候都更加稳固”。虽然公司没有提供更多关于这一最新里程碑的细节，但《杀手 3》可能是《杀手：世界暗杀》终身玩家总数的主要贡献者之一。之前的销售数据显示，《杀手 3》在英国等主要市场上的表现优于其前作，而其前作本身也比 2016 年的《杀手》更快地收回开发成本。

然而，《杀手：世界暗杀》玩家数量达到 7500 万，最主要的因素可能是其在 Xbox Game Pass 上上线了两年（至 2024 年 1 月）。另一个重要因素是 IO Interactive 自 2021 年游戏最初发行以来提供的免费试玩包。三部曲的前两部也提供了免费试玩版，进一步扩大了游戏的影响力。
