Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered not only captivates with its thrilling moment-to-moment action but also offers extensive options for weapon and outfit customization. You can tailor one outfit for stealth missions around machines, while another could be optimized for melee or ranged combat.
However, you might find yourself wishing to combine the effects of multiple outfits. Fortunately, this is possible within certain limits. Let's dive into how you can achieve this.
Remastered Version Of Horizon Zero Dawn Required
To enjoy the benefits of using two outfits simultaneously, you'll need the Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered edition. This version introduced a recent patch that added a transmog feature, allowing you to maintain the stats and effects of one outfit while adopting the appearance of another. Now, you can enhance your gameplay without compromising on style.
Pre-Requisite For The Two Outfit Method
To utilize the effects of two outfits, there are specific prerequisites to consider. Not all outfits are compatible with this method. While you can choose any outfit for your primary stats, the secondary outfit must be one of the following:
- Banuk Werak Runner
- Banuk Werak Chieftain
- Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept (available only in New Game Plus)
These outfits are exclusive to the Frozen Wilds DLC area and cannot be used at the game's outset. Thankfully, access to the DLC does not require completing the base game.
How To Get Banuk Werak Outfits In Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered
Banuk Werak Runner
Start by reaching the expansion area after defeating the new machine. If you're struggling, consider lowering the difficulty or upgrading your gear. Once there, find a Bluegleam Merchant (marked with a blue icon) and purchase the Banuk Werak Runner outfit.
Resources | Normal Cost | Ultra Hard Cost |
---|---|---|
Metal Shards | 1000 | 5000 |
Desert Glass | 10 | 20 |
Slagshine Glass | 10 | 20 |
Banuk Werak Chieftain & Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept
For the superior Banuk Werak Chieftain outfit, you must complete the "For the Werak" quest, the third main quest in the Frozen Wilds DLC. Equip your best gear as this mission is challenging, or switch to Story mode for an easier completion. The Adept version is accessible in New Game Plus using the same method.
Once you obtain the second outfit, you're ready to proceed. There's no need to continue with the Frozen Wilds content if you choose not to.
What To Do To Get the Effects Of Two Outfits
Begin by equipping your preferred outfit, focusing on the stats you need. Remember, you can enhance an outfit's stats using Weaves. After selecting your primary outfit, utilize the transmog feature to apply the appearance of one of the Banuk Werak outfits. Although these outfits don't add extra stats, they offer automatic healing after a period of taking damage.
This technique lets you retain the stats of your chosen outfit while benefiting from the auto-healing perk of the Banuk Werak outfits. If your primary outfit is the Shield Weaver, you become nearly invincible, as you rarely take damage. In those rare cases where you do, the healing perk from the Banuk Werak outfits will activate shortly.
The Chieftain and Chieftain Adept outfits have a quicker healing perk activation compared to the Banuk Werak Runner, so prioritize these if available.
