If you're a Pokémon Trading Card Game enthusiast, you've probably heard about Journey Together, the latest set that was supposed to keep the momentum going after the success of Surging Sparks and Prismatic Evolutions. Unfortunately, this set stumbled right out of the gate, leaving many collectors scratching their heads.
Prices were inflated from the start, and now that the initial excitement has faded, corrections are happening across the board. It’s a classic case of hype meeting reality—a common story in the world of TCGs.

Collectors were expecting another wave of rapid increases, but that hasn’t happened. If you're purchasing now, you're likely catching cards on the way down rather than riding them up.
That said, it’s still worth picking up certain cards if you know what you’re looking for.
Illustration Rares
Articuno had a strong start, hitting $55 back in late March. Since then, it’s dropped by 36%, settling around $35. Honestly, that’s still on the high side. Near-mint listings are available for around $18.69, which seems more reasonable. If you're just looking for a great-looking card without the premium price tag, Articuno is a solid choice.

It peaked at $60 at the end of March, but it’s since dropped by 63.66% to around $22.49. I’ve seen copies listed for as low as $14.55. While I think it might rebound slightly to $30 once the panic selling clears, it’s still a bit volatile right now.
My personal favorite Illustration Rare is N’s Reshiram. The artwork is stunning, and the pairing adds depth to the card
