Today marks the end of an era as KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global officially concludes its journey on January 30th. As the servers prepare to shut down, fans are left wondering what's next after this beloved game's departure.
How Long Did This One Last?
Developed by Sumzap and initially published by Nexon before being handed over to Sesisoft, KonoSuba: Fantastic Days offered a delightful experience. Despite its charm, the game's run was relatively brief. The global servers managed to last 3.5 years, while the Japanese version enjoyed a solid 5-year run. For an anime-based gacha game, especially one experiencing declining revenue, this duration is quite respectable.
The developers have since shifted their focus to the Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade gacha game. In a commendable effort to maintain engagement until the very end, they released voiced story updates and a final song just three weeks ago. A farewell livestream was also held in December, featuring Kazuma's voice actor, adding a personal touch to the goodbye.
The Japanese version went a step further by archiving the entire main story on their YouTube channel, allowing fans to relive the antics of Kazuma and his quirky team at any time. Additionally, an offline version was provided, enabling players to access the game's story, voice lines, and character collection even after the servers closed.
Unfortunately, KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global won't have an offline version or a dedicated YouTube channel. However, fans can still visit the Japanese YouTube channel to spend more time with Kazuma, Aqua, Megumin, and the rest of the crew.
