Recent leaks have surfaced online, showcasing early gameplay footage from EA's highly anticipated upcoming Battlefield game. According to a report by TheGamer, a Twitch user named anto_merguezz streamed content from EA's exclusive Battlefield Labs playtest. Although the original stream is no longer available on anto_merguezz's Twitch page, the footage was recorded by others and has since spread across the internet, notably on Reddit.
The leaked footage seems to validate the "modern" setting previously hinted at by Vince Zampella, setting this installment apart from other Battlefield titles that have explored historical or futuristic themes. The clips offer a glimpse into intense firefights and showcase the game's signature destructible environments, which fans have responded to positively. This is a promising sign, especially following the lukewarm reception to Battlefield 2042 upon its launch.
Following the initial unveiling last month, we already had some expectations for the new Battlefield game. Notably, it will feature the return of a traditional, single-player, linear campaign, a feature that fans missed in the multiplayer-focused Battlefield 2042.
EA has targeted a release for their next Battlefield game sometime between April 2025 and March 2026, within their fiscal year 2026. As the launch date approaches, we can anticipate more official reveals from EA. Given the recent leaks, it seems increasingly likely that EA will need to share more information about Battlefield 6—or whatever the new title will be—soon to stay ahead of further unauthorized disclosures.
IGN has reached out to EA for a statement on these developments.
