NetEase Games is committed to keeping Marvel Rivals fresh and engaging for its players through regular updates. The developers plan to roll out an update approximately every month and a half, introducing two new heroes each quarter. This strategy ensures that there's always something new for players to explore when they return to the game.
In a recent interview, game director Guangyun Chen revealed that each seasonal update is divided into two parts. The first half of the season will introduce one new hero, while the second half will bring in another. This approach aims to maintain continuous engagement among both the audience and the players. In addition to new heroes, Marvel Rivals will also offer updates in the form of new maps, storylines, and objectives.
Among the characters already introduced, Blade, who is not yet playable, and Altron, known from leaks, have been highlighted. Additionally, the entire Fantastic Four team was recently unveiled, adding to the excitement.
According to the Chinese publication GameLook, Marvel Rivals has generated approximately $100 million globally, with significant contributions from the Chinese market. Marvel, traditionally a powerhouse in the film industry, has made a notable transition into the gaming sector with this title.
Despite the less successful venture with Square Enix's Avengers, Marvel Rivals has effectively filled a niche in the game-service genre. Developed by NetEase, the game offers a high-quality heroic shooter experience featuring a roster of compelling characters, and it received positive reviews at launch.
