Mastering the Competitive Rank Reset in Marvel Rivals: A Comprehensive Guide

Marvel Rivals, the free-to-play PvP hero shooter, offers a thrilling competitive mode where players climb the ranks to prove their skill. This guide details the competitive rank reset mechanism.

Competitive Rank Reset Mechanics

At the end of each Marvel Rivals season, your competitive rank is adjusted. Specifically, your rank will decrease by seven tiers. For example, ending a season at Diamond I will place you at Gold II in the next season. Players at Bronze III, the lowest rank, remain there after the reset.

Rank Reset Timing

The competitive rank reset occurs at the season's conclusion. Season 1, commencing January 10th (at the time of writing), will serve as the first benchmark for this reset.

Competitive mode unlocks at player level 10. Progression through the ranks is based on accumulating points; every 100 points earned propels you to the next tier. The ranks are structured as follows:

  • Bronze (III-I)
  • Silver (III-I)
  • Gold (III-I)
  • Platinum (III-I)
  • Diamond (III-I)
  • Grandmaster (III-I)
  • Eternity
  • One Above All (Top 500 Leaderboard)

Even after reaching Grandmaster I, players can continue to earn points and progress to Eternity and One Above All, the latter requiring a top 500 leaderboard placement.

Season Duration

While Season 0 was shorter, subsequent seasons are expected to span approximately three months. New seasons will introduce fresh content, including new heroes (like the Fantastic Four) and maps, providing ample time for rank advancement.

This guide provides a complete understanding of the competitive rank reset in Marvel Rivals, empowering players to strategize their climb to the top.
