Early melee combat in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* can be brutal. However, mastering the Master Strike significantly simplifies things. Here's how to learn and use this powerful move.
Learning the Master Strike in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*
The Master Strike isn't immediately available. After completing the tutorial and gaining freedom to explore, locate Bara the beggar in Troskowitz. She'll point you towards Tomcat, triggering the "Combat Training" side quest.
Find Tomcat in the Nomads' Camp (near the Cumans' Camp and Bozhena's Hut). Completing "Combat Training I" is relatively straightforward. Save your game before attempting "Combat Training II," a much harder challenge. Defeating Tomcat in this second training session unlocks the Master Strike. While you can attempt this early, boosting your Strength stat beforehand is highly recommended. Failure can leave Henry severely injured, emphasizing the importance of saving before each attempt.
How to Use the Master Strike
The Master Strike is exclusive to swords. During combat, observe your opponent's weapon stance. Position your sword opposite their attack direction (e.g., hold your sword right if they attack from the left).
As your opponent strikes, a green shield icon appears centrally on the screen. Immediately press the attack button to execute the Master Strike. This parries the attack and delivers an unblockable counter. Timing is crucial; ensure your sword is positioned correctly before initiating the attack.
The Master Strike is incredibly powerful, significantly simplifying most combat encounters in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
