MGS Master Collection Vol. 2: MGS4 Remake on the Horizon?
In an interview with IGN, Konami producer Noriaki Okamura acknowledged the fervent fan desire to see Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (MGS4) on modern consoles. While remaining officially silent on concrete plans, Okamura's comments regarding Master Collection Vol. 1 (containing MGS 1-3) and the future of the series strongly suggest MGS4's involvement in the upcoming volume. He stated, "We definitely are aware of this situation with MGS4... you can probably connect the dots!"
The PS3 exclusive status of MGS4 has long been a point of discussion among fans. The success of Master Collection Vol. 1, released last year on various platforms including PC and Switch, further fuels speculation about a potential MGS4 port or remake.
Rumors intensified last year when placeholder buttons for MGS4, MGS5, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker appeared on Konami's official timeline. IGN reported these titles as likely candidates for Master Collection Vol. 2, though confirmation remains elusive. Adding fuel to the fire, David Hayter, the English voice actor for Solid Snake, hinted at his involvement in an MGS4-related project on social media.
Despite the mounting speculation and hints, Konami has yet to officially confirm any plans for an MGS4 remake or its inclusion in Master Collection Vol. 2. The wait continues.
