Monster Hunter Wilds has not only surpassed eight million units sold in just three days, but it has also become the fastest Capcom game ever to reach this milestone. This impressive achievement far exceeds the initial sales of previous titles in the series, with 2018's Monster Hunter World shipping five million copies and 2021's Monster Hunter Rise shipping four million.
These numbers are not surprising given that Monster Hunter Wilds rocketed above one million concurrent players on Steam over its opening weekend, overtaking Cyberpunk 2077 to become the 7th most-played game ever. The game also played a significant role in helping Steam cross the 40 million concurrent player mark for the first time.
