Capcom recently unveiled a thrilling showcase for Monster Hunter Wilds, highlighting the exciting content slated for the latest installment in the beloved Monster Hunter series. The showcase provided a deep dive into Title Update 1, along with announcements about new cosmetic DLC, surprise additions, and a sneak peek at the next Title Update.
Title Update 1 is set to launch on April 4, 2025, and will be a free update for all Monster Hunter Wilds players. Alongside the update, a variety of both free and paid DLC options will become available. A new social hub, dubbed the Grand Hub, will enhance the community aspect of the game, offering new ways for hunters to interact and enjoy downtime. New armor sets and cosmetic options will also be introduced, allowing players to customize their characters further. Additionally, players can look forward to confronting new, formidable monsters.
The Monster Hunter Wilds community is buzzing with anticipation for Title Update 1. Whether you're eager to explore the new Grand Hub, battle the elusive Mizutsune, or simply deck out your character with fresh looks, there's something for every hunter to enjoy.
A New Hub For Hunters ---------------------The showcase kicked off with an introduction to the new endgame hub designed for hunting parties: the Grand Hub. This area promises a range of activities to engage in, from feasting together and arm wrestling to enjoying nightly performances by the Diva. The Grand Hub also introduces a fun Barrel Bowling mini-game, where players can earn vouchers and rewards through participation. To unlock this vibrant new space, hunters need to reach Hunter Rank 16 and speak with Tetsuzan in Suja, the Peaks of Accord.
Mizutsune Arrives
A major highlight of Title Update 1 is the introduction of the graceful yet deadly Mizutsune. This monster brings swift tail strikes and powerful water jets into the fray, challenging hunters at Hunter Rank 21 and above. To take on Mizutsune, head to the Scarlet Forest and speak with Kanya to start the quest. Successful hunts will reward you with materials to craft new gear, enhancing your arsenal further.
Additional Hunts on the Way
Prepare for more challenging encounters as an Event Quest featuring Arch-tempered Rey Dau arrives. This fight promises to be more demanding than typical Tempered battles, requiring hunters to be at least Hunter Rank 50. Triumph over this beast to unlock new armor. Additionally, the update allows for repeated battles against Zoh Shia, previously a one-time fight in the main story. After reaching Hunter Rank 50, players can access new quests for Zoh Shia and craft new armor from the spoils.
Arena Quests
Speedrun enthusiasts will find a new challenge in Arena Quests, designed for those looking to test their skills against the clock. Both Challenge Quests and Free Challenge Quests will be available, with pendants awarded for participation and top performances. Access these quests via the counter located in the Grand Hub.
Change Alma's Outfit
Alma, the dedicated handler, is getting a wardrobe update. Players can now customize Alma's appearance through an in-camp menu, with one new outfit offered for free. Completing a specific side mission will unlock additional options, including new glasses for Alma.
More DLC is on the way
In addition to Title Update 1, a mix of free and paid DLC will enhance the game experience. Classic gestures from previous Monster Hunter titles will be freely available in the store, while the Cosmetic DLC Pack 1 and other exclusive items can be purchased or accessed via the Cosmetic DLC Pass or Premium Deluxe Edition. New stickers and additional looks for Alma are just some of the treats on offer.
More Event Quests and Seasonal Events
The excitement continues with more Event Quests and the introduction of Seasonal Events. During these special periods, the Grand Hub will transform, and unique meals will be available. Seasonal Events will offer limited-time equipment, gestures, decorations, and more. The first event, Festival of Accord: Blossomdance, starts on April 23, adorning the game with pink cherry blossoms and new decor. Capcom has also promised the return of most previously available events and quests.
The Roadmap Ahead
Here's a glimpse into the future of Monster Hunter Wilds. Title Update 1 will launch on April 3 for U.S. players, followed by the Blossomdance event on April 22. The challenging Arch-tempered Rey Dau will make its debut on April 29, and by the end of May, additional features and a Capcom collaboration are set to be unveiled.
Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 2
The showcase concluded with a tantalizing tease of Title Update 2, expected to arrive this summer. While no specific release date was shared, a brief image hinted at the possible return of Lagiacrus, the iconic underwater leviathan, now wreaking havoc on the surface.
