Morikomori Life has officially launched on Android and iOS devices, but currently, it's only available in Japan. The game is being published by Realfun Studio, marking a shift from its initial release in China by Level Infinite under Tencent Games. Unfortunately, the Chinese version was removed from the market about a year ago.
The Rural Farm Life Sim Is Back
One of the standout features of Morikomori Life is its stunning visuals. The developers have masterfully captured the essence of a cozy rural life through anime-inspired, Ghibli-style art. These scenes are so authentic, they could easily be mistaken for stills from a Studio Ghibli film, far removed from the generic AI-generated art we often see today.
In the game, you step into the shoes of Kaon, a young Japanese girl who receives a mysterious letter from her grandmother, prompting her to return to her childhood village of Komori. The game invites players to rediscover the joys of a tranquil rural existence. The use of 3D toon shading in Morikomori Life beautifully renders the Japanese countryside, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere that feels almost lifelike.
If you're skeptical about the game's visual appeal, just take a moment to watch the Morikomori Life trailers below and see the magic for yourself!
Morikomori Life Lets You Experience Slow-Paced Living
Morikomori Life is all about embracing the slow pace of rural life. Engage in activities like farming, cooking, fishing, hunting, and even constructing your own home. You'll find yourself chopping wood, mining for ore, and discovering rare materials as you explore the expansive world.
As you gather resources, you'll unlock opportunities to enhance your home and enrich your lifestyle. Customize Kaon's appearance to suit your personal style and interact with new friends in the village. Use foraged ingredients to cook meals, and lend a hand to the villagers with various tasks.
The game also offers a degree of character customization, allowing you to infuse your own personality into Kaon. With its open-world setting, you're free to roam and uncover delightful surprises at every turn.
Currently, Morikomori Life is available on Android in Japan. If you're located in the region, you can download it from the Google Play Store. There's no confirmation yet on whether a global release is on the horizon.
