NieR: Automata's opening introduces 2B's initial mission. After deploying and engaging in melee combat, you'll acquire a one-handed and a two-handed sword.
The two-handed weapon, the Virtuous Treaty, is a powerful early-game sword temporarily lost after the prologue. However, it's quickly recoverable upon gaining free-roam access in the subsequent chapter.

Where To Find the Virtuous Treaty in NieR: Automata
This early-game weapon is located near your starting point after exiting the bunker. In the city ruins, descend to the lower area. To the left, you'll see a highway above the nearest access point. Proceed towards the highway, climbing the ruins to reach the road. This path leads back towards the factory.
Jump down to the factory and follow the grassy path to the main structure. On the left, you'll find another access point with stairs leading upwards. In this upper area, locate the destroyed bridge where you fought the Goliath enemy. The Virtuous Treaty is embedded in the ground at the bridge's edge.
Your discarded equipment from the prologue, including consumables, is located just to the right of the sword.

Virtuous Treaty Stats in NieR: Automata
- Attack: 300-330
- Combo: Lt 2 Hv 2
This two-handed sword, typical of its type, delivers wide, powerful attacks effective against multiple enemies, albeit with a slower attack speed. Upgrades can potentially make it one of the game's highest-damage weapons, provided you adapt to its slower pace. You can also incorporate it into combos with faster weapons using heavy attacks, sacrificing a full combo for increased damage output.
