Oscar Isaac skips Star Wars, sparks Avengers: Doomsday rumors

Author : Nicholas Update:Dec 06,2025

Hold onto your seats – Oscar Isaac might be reprising his role as Moon Knight in *Avengers: Doomsday*. Surprised? Same here, but a recent development lends credibility to this intriguing theory.

Over the weekend, Star Wars Celebration confirmed Isaac's withdrawal from this year's Japan event "due to changes in his production schedule." His much-hyped February announcement had originally fueled speculation about Poe Dameron’s return to the *Star Wars* universe – especially after Daisy Ridley used the 2023 event to reveal her involvement in an upcoming film.

While Isaac's scheduling shift remains unexplained, eagle-eyed fans quickly connected the dots: *Avengers: Doomsday* is currently filming in London. Social media erupted with theories:

Still, this remains speculative. Though Marvel enjoys surprises, Isaac wasn’t among the dozens of actors officially confirmed for *Doomsday*. However, Kevin Feige himself hinted at unrevealed cast members during CinemaCon, stating: "We revealed many, not all." So… wishful thinking isn’t entirely unwarranted.

Isaac’s *Moon Knight* concluded its standalone Disney+ series in 2022 without renewal news – but *Avengers: Doomsday*’s May 2026 release could change that. Meanwhile, MCU detectives are also scrutinizing Robert Downey Jr.’s recent Doctor Doom-themed 60th birthday invite for clues.

Who was the biggest surprise cast member revealed for Avengers: Doomsday?

*Doomsday*’s cast reveal last month heavily featured X-Men veterans like Kelsey Grammer (Beast), Patrick Stewart (Professor X), and Ian McKellen (Magneto) – none previously seen in the MCU except Grammer’s *The Marvels* cameo. With Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), and James Marsden (Cyclops) also joining, speculation grows: Could this secretly be an *Avengers vs. X-Men* adaptation?
