Pedro Pascal, renowned for his roles in acclaimed series like The Last of Us, The Mandalorian, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps, has publicly criticized Harry Potter author JK Rowling for her stance against the transgender community. This response came after Rowling celebrated a UK Supreme Court ruling that defines "woman" legally as "a biological woman and biological sex," impacting equality legislation and excluding transgender women from protections under the Equality Act.
Rowling's celebratory post on Twitter/X, featuring her smoking a cigar and drinking by the ocean, was captioned, "I love it when a plan comes together," a nod to her financial support of For Scotland Women, the organization behind the lawsuit.

In response to a video by writer and activist Tariq Raouf criticizing Rowling's actions, Pascal commented, "Awful disgusting SH** is exactly right. Heinous LOSER behavior." Raouf's video labeled Rowling's behavior as "serious Voldemort villain sh**" and encouraged a boycott of all things Harry Potter.
Pascal has a history of advocating for transgender rights. He previously shared a strong message on social media, stating, "I can’t think of anything more vile and small and pathetic than terrorizing the smallest, most vulnerable community of people who want nothing from you, except the right to exist," accompanied by a photo of a sign affirming the historical and ongoing presence of transgender individuals. At the premiere of Thunderbolts in London, he wore a shirt that read "Protect the dolls," a term used within the LGBTQIA+ community to refer to trans women.
His support extends personally to his sister, Lux Pascal, a trans woman who publicly came out in 2021. Pedro celebrated her announcement with a heartfelt message in Spanish, "Mi hermana, mi corazón, nuestra Lux," translating to "My sister, my heart, our Lux."
