Pikmin Bloom Celebrates 3.5 Years with Classic Console Theme

Pikmin Bloom is set to celebrate its 3.5th anniversary next month with a nostalgic twist that's sure to delight fans. Niantic is rolling out the red carpet with an event starting May 1st, 2025, bringing back beloved gadgets and introducing new elements that pay homage to Nintendo's rich history.

The Update Is a Cool Throwback to the Good Old Nintendo Days!

Over the years, Pikmin Bloom has delighted players with a variety of fun decor, including Pikmin adorned with Mahjong Tiles and Playing Cards. For its 3.5th anniversary, the game is taking a trip down memory lane by introducing classic Nintendo game consoles from the 80s and 90s.

Adding to the nostalgia, a new Playing Card (Clubs Suit) Decor Pikmin will be available. This is a tribute to Nintendo's origins when they were primarily known for manufacturing playing cards before venturing into the world of video games. The designs of these cards are inspired by Nintendo’s vintage playing card decks, offering a unique blend of old and new.

The event will run from May 1st until May 31st, 2025, providing players with an entire month to engage in missions and collect these exciting new Pikmin. Completing Event Challenge missions will reward you with random goodies such as Game Button Cells, seedlings that can sprout into Nintendo Consoles ‘80-‘95 Decor Pikmin, and flower petals.

During the event, Brilliant Mushrooms will appear, and smashing them can yield Mystery Boxes containing Game Button Cells, flower petals, and other valuable items. The Nintendo Consoles ‘80-‘95 or Playing Card Decor Pikmin are especially effective at taking down these mushrooms, making them essential for maximizing your rewards.

Pikmin Bloom 3.5th Anniversary Also Brings Big Flowers in May

In May, the game will feature blooming flowers such as carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, and anniversary roses. These can be cultivated by planting red, yellow, white, or blue petals around them.

A nectar update will also be implemented, ensuring that fruit harvested from mushrooms in May provides nectar for both regular and special flowers, including carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, and anniversary roses.
