Niantic has just unveiled the exciting Wayfarer Challenge in Pokémon Go, offering trainers in Chile and India a unique opportunity to influence their local gaming environment while earning exclusive rewards. This event, running from March 7th to 9th in Chile and March 10th to 12th in India, allows you to contribute to the Pokémon Go ecosystem by reviewing and approving Wayspot nominations on the Niantic Wayfarer platform. By participating, you can help introduce new PokéStops and Gyms, enhancing your gaming experience and that of your community.
During the Wayfarer Challenge, you can nominate real-world locations such as landmarks, sculptures, and street art to become PokéStops and Gyms. Each review you complete contributes towards reaching milestone goals, which unlock special rewards for all participants. If the community manages to resolve 5,000 nominations, everyone will receive 20 Ultra Balls, a Star Piece, an Incense, and a Poffin. Push the goal further to 10,000 approvals, and the rewards escalate to 25 Ultra Balls, two Star Pieces, two Incense, two Poffins, and a Lucky Egg.
To participate, you must be at least level 37 in Pokémon Go and have a Niantic Wayfarer account. New users will need to complete the Wayfarer Orientation before they can start reviewing nominations. Additionally, you should have played in Chile or India recently or set your Wayfarer Hometown or Bonus Location to one of these countries. To be eligible for rewards, you need to review at least 50 nominations, and at least one of the community milestones must be achieved.
Concurrently, the PokéStop Challenge event will take place from March 9th to 12th, exclusively in Chile and India. This event offers additional incentives as you explore newly added PokéStops, including 3x XP for first-time visits, 3x Stardust from opening Gifts, and increased Kecleon spawns. You can also engage in Event Field Research for a chance to encounter Eevee, and complete Timed Research to catch other Pokémon.
